So many things to say and so little time... I'll do my best while she sleeps...
5 weeks have passed since Eva was born... I still can not believe that we have survived!!! (For all of you that already have kids, you know what I mean)
Motherhood is a lovely experience, but is also very, very hard... Eva is a fantastic little one and most of the time, I can tell what is happening when she doesn't seem happy and that, my friends, is a relief!
We do have good days and bad ones... Sometimes she will go on crying and sucking for hours on end... Some others she will sleep and sleep and will forget feeding time! Yesterday she did not want to eat very well... She would fall asleep on the boob and on the bottle and all she was taking was about 1 1/2 ounces every feed (I'm combining bottle and breast)... I spoke to a friend that bottle feeds her baby with the same formula and she recommended me to change the size of teats to a size two because the formula is quite thick and it's very hard on the baby to get the milk flowing easily, so I rushed to the shops in a small window-gap of the day when she was fast asleep and couldn;t be bothered about te world (I have to thank Carole for coming with me and saving me from having to take Eva out of the car in the pouring rain!). To finish the story of the teats: SHE ATE ALL OD HER BOTTLE IN HALF THE TIME!!! Last night was a good night! :)
To celebrate her 5th week, Eva has been behaving a bit strange. She is a little bit spoiled today, She cried and cried, and couldn't settle ... She woke up at 6:30 am and was fed about 7 (just to make a bit hungrier) and I tried to get her back to sleep so I could snooze for another hour or so... Those of you who know me, are aware that I'm a bit of a dreamer! The snooze thing: DIDN'T happen!!! Tee hee! So the little one was awake from 6:30 until 12:00 noon... We had nice moments playing at the gym and watching TV (our favourite channel is Baby First!), but not everything was happiness :( From time to time she would be in a really crappy mood and would cry and demand my attention (as if she didn't have it completely already!) until she fell asleep.
The health visitor came in today to check on us, but didn't weighed her today. Instead, we'll be going on thursday to get the veredict (bets are welcome!).
I'll leave some pics of Eva wearing a cozy set of dungarees that she borrowed from her big frien Ollie (Thanks to her lovely mum Aimi!)
Enjoy!
Love
